With the Olympics upon us, I wanted to take a moment and talk about one of the most unique athletes I have ever photographed, the American Bladerunner, Blake Leeper. He will be competing in Rio for Team USA and is an inspiring young man.
It was the first shoot I ever went after. I made deals and fought hard to get my one chance to photograph Mythbusters. It was less about the photography and more about the opportunity to be a part of something that until that time I existed only as a viewer.
UPDATE: I wanted to post this blog up to the top again not for the promotion of the work, but as a reminder that keep Michael in your thoughts. While there is progress being made, we are very aware of the severity of head injuries as seen in all too early passing of Jules Bianchi. For those that follow F1 and those that don’t, if anything, let it be a reminder to tell those around how much they mean to you.
Of all the gifts and opportunities that we as photographers will experience through our careers, none are more important than the opportunity to help someone else out. From teaching others your craft to using your talent to enrich someone else’s life, there is no downside to giving back.
Firstly, I want to thank those that sent over emails or messaged me on FB and Twitter about the new ASU campaign. It was a ton of fun to produce, and when my readers enjoy the shots, it is icing on the cake.
While enjoying my last weekend off for a while, I took some time to relax and watch some golf. While golf isn’t my most photographed sport, I have photographed one player in particular….. Bubba Watson.
